Did anyone notice that at the end of the instrumental break in WYWY Georges voice quietly muttering ‘dadadada’ and then counting in is gone? Or am I not paying enough attention?

Yes, there’s been quite a bit of “cleanup” in the remix. Paul’s singalong to the piano solo in Lovely Rita is severely curtailed, as is the chatter just after the last chorus of SPLHCB reprise. I’m sure there’s more I’ve missed, the album clocked up a lot of weird stuff.

Just finished ripping the vinyl. Sounds so much better than the CD because it hasn’t been brickwalled.

I listened to cd 2 yesterday. I hink the final “ommmm” chord they recorded for “A Day In The Life ” would have been a great add to the final piano version.
Also, i liked Sgt. Peppers take 1. The guitar licks sound a bit like Hendrix to me in the “We’re Sergeant Peppers Lonely Hearts Club band…” bit…

Take 8 of ‘Sgt. Pepper … (Reprise)’ and take 9 of ‘Lovely Rita ‘ are my favourites of the outtakes at this moment. Really fun tracks to listen to, ‘Lovely Rita ‘ goes by so fast, sounds way faster than on the record. What’s with the weird backwards gibberish during the song’s piano intro?

Paul’s voice sounds impossibly high on it. I reversed the track to see if the gibberish made sense, but it did not, so I suspect it was fake backwards or just nonsense. TMBG were very good at fake backwards singing, perhaps the Beatles enjoyed a spot of it too?

I just realised – isn’t it actually the 70 year anniversary, not 50? ‘It was twenty years ago today’ meaning that the band began on June 1st, 1947. I wonder if Lonie Donegan had anything to do with them going in and out of style.

A better answer would be that it’s both the 50th and 70th anniversary, it’s the 50th anniversary of the album and the 70th anniversary of the band playing, although since the backing track was recorded on 1 February 1967, that would mean that Sgt. Pepper taught the band to play on 1 February 1947, at least to me, since I know that The Beatles had egos for this album, Paul was Sgt. Pepper , Ringo was Billy Shears, John was Mr. Kite (possibly), and George was either Napoleon, Captain Crunch, or someone else that I can’t think of right now.

Huh. I’d always thought it was the 1st of June. Maybe that was the date in another country.

I was super confused about it this year while celebrating the 50th. 1st of June in the UK, 2nd of June in the US, and May 26 where?

I’ve been confused about this too but I found this article very helpful. It states that it was originally planned to release it on the 1st June but then there has been a rushed release at 26th May (in the UK). However, it also says that it has been released on 2nd June in the US which would contradict @The Hole Got Fixed’s statement, so I’m not quite sure how trustworthy the source is but I found it logical.
