Says a lot about the staying power of this music. The current fads come and go, but The Beatles are always up there.

Worth adding that Revolver is at #1 on the UK Vinyl Album Chart, ahead of Taylor Swift’s Midnights at #2.
On physical sales the Beatles are outperforming Swift, while she wins the overall race once streaming is added to the numbers.
On another note, and the real reason I came to post, the website Sound&Vision have a very good article (as well as lengthy, running to 7 pages) on the recording and remixing of the album in light of the new release. Goes into it in great depth; the instruments used, the impact of Geoff Emerick, a look at every song, the cover, and Giles and Sam Okell commenting on the remix process for the last page and a half.
I found it an interesting and worthwhile read.

Outstanding! It makes sense that Revolver outperforms Swift with the physical sales: Beatles Buyers want tho have the hard copy, from their generation alone. Swift Buyers go more for the digital releases. I myself will prefer physical over digital music and and movies and books anytime. I love the new streaming ways but I still get the important stuff in physical format.

THIS!
I might not predict anything for Swift but I am sure many acts of the past 20 years wont be remembered in 50 or 60 years. Fab will stay!

I think Swift will still be getting played, most of the others will be the odd song you get on the music channels that most people go “oh, yeah. That was a decent song”.

So, more Anthology redundancies, I see; 5 of the 7 Anthology 2 tracks from this album evidently reused (though it appears Giles is once again remedying his dad’s penchant for editing down tracks on a couple of these, at least). There was really nothing else of interest in the vaults for “Taxman ,” though?
Not sure why we couldn’t get this for the album’s 50th anniversary like everything else after it, but whatever. Bring on the Super Deluxe Editions for Rubber Soul and the Yellow Submarine /Magical Mystery Tour sessions (with maybe a few more additions from those early ’68 sessions not included on the White Album Deluxe Edition?). I doubt there’s much else of interest pre-Rubber Soul still worth releasing… unless the first attempts at “Wait ” during the Help ! sessions, the first attempts at “Hold Me Tight ” during the Please Please Me sessions, or their failed attempts at “Tip of My Tongue” are somehow uncovered.

The technology didn’t exist to do the remixing, outtakes etc, they are using what Peter Jackson and co created for the ‘Get Back ‘ documentary series.
Talking about ‘Get Back ‘: any signs of of the original ‘Let It Be ‘ or has that been conveniently and quietly buried deeper in the vaults?

Duke, there sooo many bootlegs & outtakes from all the early albums out there. Thank god they got released as boots, otherwise lots of people wouldn’t even know they exist.

Some of these tracks sound really good remixed. It’s like hearing them for the first time again.
Others, yuck. I clearly have a very different idea to Giles about the appeal of some of these songs. The piano is buried under the clavichord during the chorus and outro of “For No One ”, for example.
A general issue, and I will admit this is a bit of a strange complaint on the face of it, is that the vocals seem to crisp and clear rather than being part of the music. Sometimes this works well and breathes new life into the songs, like “Got To Get You Into My Life ”. Other times it doesn’t.
The worst offender is “She Said She Said ”. To me that’s “supposed” to be a fuzzy, psychedelic cacophony, an experiment that would lead to greater things to come. But this version sounds like John is singing while George and Ringo play in the next room. The guitar isn’t an equal partner, it is a backing track. And those cymbals are totally buried in the “centre channel” – instead of a dominant feature of the track they’re practically muted.
This might be sacrilegious, but I think I’ll mix some of these into my “preferred” version of the album. The first four or five are all clear improvements, at least so far, and so are “Good Day Sunshine ” and “Got To Get You Into My Life ”. Maybe the switch between styles would be too jarring, but I’ll give it a go.

Interview with Giles for Times Radio a couple of weeks ago, mainly on the subject of Revolver but also touching on other areas:
At one point he says, “And then the next one, I guess, would be Rubber Soul . But I’m certainly not working on that yet.”

Way premature thought, obviously; but a RS deluxe box would be a fine place for that “Think For Yourself ” vocal-overdub session-hijinks tape to be included in its full glory

Would ‘RS’ be that exciting considering how each release seems to be more expensive for less content?

You and me both. These types of releases make it so expensive to be a completist. Not that I’m going to stop being a completist.
