So I ordered my copy at Media Markt germany. But they only have the 2 big boxsets for preorder. Not the 2 Disc or Single Disc Edition.
Amazon UK and Amazon DE dont have anything up yet beside the digital release, at least I cant find them regardless of what I am searching for. Curious. Hope they’ll set up the preorders today…

I’m going to wait until it’s released. Then listen to the outtakes in youtube and if i like them i’ll buy it.
I’m not interested anymore in this Gile’s remixing thing even though it is mixed properly with centered vocals, bass and stuff…

Myself, I think this Giles remix is the most important done so far, in that — using Peter Jackson’s people — they’ve been able to de-mix the masters properly. The trouble with the earlier albums has always been that large chunks of the songs are pre-mixed and locked on one track or another. Jackson’s de-mixing allows a true stereo mix for the first time.

Looks like we’re getting quite a lot here in terms of outtakes. Consider me optimistic.

Most Avid John Fan 2020 and 2021:
I’m reluctant to complain about any previously-unheard Beatles content, but I wish Apple would stop with that stupid EP thing. If I was in charge I’d have a disc devoted to non-album singles (in this case Paperback Writer and Rain ), showing their development from first takes to remixes.
There are two takes of Paperback Writer in the vaults, and five of Rain . They would all comfortably fit onto a single disc and give us some real insight into the recording process.
Instead they’re giving us two versions of take five of Rain (which we’re all familiar with anyway) – the original tempo it was played at, and the slowed down version. That’s one hell of a missed opportunity. At least we get 1 and 2 of Paperback Writer .
TBH I’d love it if the books were available separately, because I mainly listen to digital audio nowadays. It sucks to have to pay £100+ for the recording info.

Is looking like your Yellow Submarine entry may need a major overhaul, given the John demos, @Joe.

As some of you may know, Revolver is my favourite Beatles studio album. I have pre-ordered the deluxe CD box set and I’m looking forward to hearing the demos and studio outtakes.

We NEED to talk about this! Ringo’s cymbals in the chorus actually stand out now! The guitar solo is no longer shoved into the right ear! George’s vocals are more front and center!!!
Giles, you absolute BOSS! If he fixes the vocals on Eleanor Rigby , im going to cry! 🙂

I have savaged Paul for the contents of his deluxe sets and so it would be hypocritical to not do so here. I want to see outtakes and regardless of whatever concerns exist of the content, Apple are finally opening the vaults and letting us hear some more of what has been locked away for decade but let’s not pretend all is wonderful and blow loving air into Apple’s ear.
The price for this is ridiculous. The ‘Pepper’ super deluxe 5 years ago was £20 cheaper for 4 CDs, a book and a Blu-Ray, the music alone has a duration of 3 hours and 23 minutes. Amazon have the super deluxe priced at £130 for 5 CD’s but what amounts to 3 CDs of music (the EP runs for 10 minutes and could easily fit on any of the outtakes discs or included more content), a book and the Blu-Rav with the 5.1 mixes etc is long gone – in total it’s 2 hours and 42 minutes of music. The vinyl is a little under £200. We are being charged more for far less but having been starved of content everyone is delighted and the media will only sing it’s praises.
The discs could be crammed with unheard takes and studio dialogue for little extra cost which would blow us away and have us delighted, but as has been pointed out elsewhere, Apple have the desire for the LPs to match the CDs so this is what it is.
I will buy the downloads from somewhere (probably not iTunes) and either wait for the price to eventually drop or, as I have with the ‘Let It Be ‘ set, not bother (any word on the ‘Let It Be ‘ movie yet?).
And by the way, where is ‘Good Day Sunshine ‘ on the outtakes? After rehearsals three takes were recorded with take 1 being overdubbed; surely the basic take, one of the other rejected takes or part of the rehearsal (if they still exist) could have been put on here. Will anyone ask Giles?

Very valid point RN. Now makes me wonder if they’ll redo Pepper?????

This is a money grab. 140 dollars for no Blu-ray and 5 CDs, one of which I think is an EP?
I’m going to wait to see how they screwed this one up and see how much the price goes down.
Surely they can only make this sound worse, especially Tomorrow Never Knows .

My friend is most excited about having mono vinyl. I said that the description of those extras does sound very exciting indeed, I’m looking forward to hearing that stuff. New mixes will be better in some ways and worse in others, I’d expect. And yeah, typical greed move to use an entire disc for a goddam single. It seems they’ve gotten stuck on the 5 or 6 disc box business-model, regardless of whether the pre-Pepper albums have enough tape in the vault to fill that much space.
But its immaterial to me; I’ve not bought one of the boxed albums yet and almost surely won’t start now, not when I can stream
