I think the seagulls and backwards guitar do that.

I’d say it’s between I’m Only Sleeping and I Want To Tell You (why not both?). Not necessarily stoned but…beautiful

Now I'm a confused bassist ukulele guitar synthesizer kazoo penguin everyone who is definitely not @Joe. This has been true for 2016 & 2017 but I may have to get more specific in the future.

The easy choice is Tomorrow Never Knows , that song is absolutely radical, but I have to agree with ewe2 that those two songs might be the most psychedelic. The riff of I Want To Tell You has such a nice groove to it, Ringo’s sparse drumming really drives it home. Paul’s high harmony at the end is really good as well. The whole song pairs really well visually and mechanically with the psychedelic experience. It just slots in nicely if that makes any sense. (Probably doesn’t)
Im Only Sleeping has everything, the ethereal instrumental, the backwards guitar, brilliant lyrics and harmonies, but the best part about it is Lennon’s vocal inflection. It seeps through the song and his annunciation is dripping with an attitude that comes from having experience. Difficult to describe but his most psychedelic songs all have this element.
I would also hate to underrate the Guitar fills in Doctor Robert , they are wildy psychedelic.

Agreed, TNK is the easy answer, and probably the right one…but “Yellow Submarine ” is pretty trippy in its way too – like when the sound effects first appear, and they’re subtle, just the sound of the sea; but then they add more sound effects, and more people adding spoken bits, and eventually all this noise overtakes the song entirely, and for an entire verse it’s almost as if the song itself’s been submerged under the sea like the submarine itself. (Also, who knows if John wasn’t partway inspired by a lingering memory of George’s house transforming itself into a submarine, in the wake of the dental experience?)

My thoughts too about I’m Only Sleeping. The subject matter also helps a great deal.

‘TNK’ is the obvious answer but there is a lot going on beneath the surface of a number of the ‘Revolver ‘ numbers, that’s what probably makes the album maintain it’s interest and influence over the last almost 60 years. You can still almost smell the drugs on some of the songs. ‘She Said, She Said’ is quite trippy, what with the lyrics and feel of the track. A really bad trip.
