I just want to say that my favorite part of this cover is Cowboy George standing in Paul’s hair. Truly an iconic yee-haw moment *chef’s kiss.*I have said my piece thank you
Cowboy George!!
One of the greatest episodes of ‘The A-Team’.

During the 50’s & 60’s showing a toilet on TV in the USA was considered offensive. The first sight of a flushing toilet was in Hitchcock’s Psycho in 1960, and that was done deliberately for the shock value. You can imagine, given the US reaction to comments about popularity and Jesus exactly what the more regressive would have felt about a toilet on an album cover then. The decision was correct given the potential for offence in that type of culture.

I suppose one could make the argument that movie goers had paid for the privilege to go sit in the dark and see a toilet on screen; whereas those poor unfortunate parents looking through record racks to buy their kids a Beatles record, they would not be at all forewarned by the possibility of looking at the cover of Revolver , and trying to spot the word “Beatles” anywhere, to make sure that it was in fact the Beatles…and then seeing a toilet! and being horrified
