I like it too. Has anyone ever heard the Jam’s cover of it? It’s really good
Not a fan myself. Never really liked Paul Weller’s voice anyways.

Father McKenzieI've been up on the mountain, and I've seen his wondrous grace,
I've sat there on the barstool and I've looked him in the face.
He seemed a little haggard, but it did not slow him down,
he was humming to the neon of the universal sound.

Yeah, I spent awhile trying to get into the Jam years ago but also was turned off by Weller’s singing, even though they could really play and had a few tracks I could enjoy. (They obviously were big “Revolver ” fans, considering how “Start” was an obvious “Taxman ” homage.)

Something keeps drawing me to I Want To Tell You and I have no idea what. Maybe it’s the simplicity of both the lyrics and melody, especially the middle section with that wonderful chordal sequence (Bm7-Bm7(dim5)-A-B7-Bm7-Bm7(dim5)-A)….or something like that….
Or maybe it’s because it’s such a bloody good track…..

‘IWTTY’ is my favourite George song on the album.

Currently, it’s a tie between She Said She Said and And Your Bird Can Sing , but I think I like She Said a little more.

I’d have to go with And Your Bird Can Sing . But choosing a favourite song from Revolver is nigh impossible.

It sure is… and it doesn’t even have two of my favourite tracks from that time on it; rain and paperback writer. Can’t help thinking, if those two gems were on it instead of yellow submarine and Love You To , how perfect (or damn close to) the album would have been. In my opinion, of course…

This is a tough one, but I’d have to choose “She Said She Said .” It’s so powerful and I love the “making me feel…” part. I also sort of like the fact that Paul does nothing on the track. LOL! I like Paul very much, but…well, you know what I mean. I hope.

I just hope that I would have some means of playing it. Ha ha!

I know what you mean (wink). She Said.. is also one of my favourite songs and it’s ironic I’ve always loved the bass playing but wasn’t always aware it was George playing. I read somewhere that George helped John with the rhythm of the song so perhaps that’s why he featured on the rhythm track.
It’s So Hard to name a favourite Revolver track but for me it’s between Here There And Everywhere and Tomorrow Never Knows .
But I just remembered Eleanor Rigby . So it’s between Here There And Everywhere and Tomorrow Never Knows and Eleanor Rigby .
But I just remembered I’m Only Sleeping . So it’s between….

Eleanor Rigby , Here, There And Everywhere and For No One have surely got to be Paul’s most poignant songs from any Beatles album. Which is really interesting for someone with the happy/melodic Beatle reputation.

It just goes to show that happy/melodic and poignant are not mutually exclusive categories.

It’s a great melody, one of the best ever, but I find the song more on the haunting/affecting side.

Love the album version obviously, but I think I prefer the I’m Only Sleeping demo as heard on Anthology.
