I’m not really sure what to call this thread, but I’m thinking of purchasing The Lost Decca Sessions and Live at the Star Club in Hamburg and I was wondering if any of you have them and would recommend them. The Star Club one is $40, so I don’t want to shell that out only to be disappointed, but then the Beatles have never disappointed me before …
Opinions? I do have the Live at the BBC album and it’s become ranked pretty high on my list now. And I just bought Let it Be … Naked and am anxiously awaiting its delivery! “I’ve got a feeling” I’m going to love it.*
*That was my best pun ever.
Favorite Starbucks drink: Chai, baby, Chai.

LATBBC is what I'm listening to today. I love it. I don't have the others you mentioned but would love to hear from those who do. I may end up adding those to my wish list as well.
If you get LIB …N and you don't like it I will be For You Blue .

I'd suggest getting Love. If you don't have a single collection (or the American albums) already, get 1.
As for LIB …N, I think they should have just let it be. Sure, they didn't get back, but I quite like Let It Be . In fact, I really dig it, so much that I'd go Across The Universe to listen to it. Ah, Maggie Mae agrees with me, that's two of us.

Would you take the 909 Across The Universe ? I have a feeling you would.

So you wanna tell a “let it be” story huh? i direct you to this thread:

As noted above, “Live At The BBC ” is well worth owning! The Star Club stuff is interesting, but pretty hard to listen to.
Paul: Yeah well… first of all, we’re bringing out a ‘Stamp Out Detroit’ campaign.

And don't pay 40 bucks for the Star Club thing, I'm quite sure I saw it for much less many times!

Thank you x 3.
Von – you had to say “interesting”, didn't you?
*sigh*
I'll be looking for it.

First of all, lovely puns! Second of all, Love is already I Me “Mine.” (That one wasn’t very good on my part … ) It’s full of creative combinations of melodies and rhythms, but I don’t keep it on my iPod because I’ve never found myself in the mood to listen to half of one song mixed with half of another. Plus it reminds me of a guy — I mean jerk — I dated because he’s the one who lent it to me to burn. Grr …

Why not download the Decca and Star-Club albums? It’s not like The Beatles will lose money from it, and they shouldn’t have been officially released anyway.

See? That's why you make the big bucks.
I just checked Amazon and did not see the option to download. I'm in no hurry to obtain these just now, but will keep my eyes open just the same.
Thanks!

I was thinking of bittorrent rather than Amazon, but Whatever Gets You Thru The Night , s'alright, s'alright…

I'm ashamed (or glad?) that I don't know what that is.

Can’t you download them through iTunes? I also see little icons to purchase the songs through there.
I'll look – thanks to both of you!

It's a torrent site. I use it myself. It's how I got the Mono box and the Zeppelin stuff I'm currently listening to.

Nope, only the Stereo box and Love are on ITunes.
Edit: I’ve just got the Decca tapes. Still haven’t listened.
Edit2: The link isn't cooperating.

BitTorrent is a filesharing method. Here's a good description of how it works.
To get started, download a torrent client such as this. Then go to a torrent site (I tend to use The Pirate Bay but there are loads out there), search for something good, then download the torrent file (where it says “download this torrent” – avoid the big DOWNLOAD button on the Pirate Bay – it's just an advert).
Avoid anything that looks like it might be dodgy (people tend to leave comments on the page if the files are likely to be virus-ridden, so check before getting involved). Open this up in your client and start downloading.
It might seem complicated at first, but once you work out what you're doing a whole new world opens up. Obviously none of this should be used to download illegal stuff *cough* just files that are copyright free. Caveat emptor and all that.

Sorry Zig, that was a typo – I meant to say “These recordings will make your nose bleed and give you a full-body rash if you try to listen to them”. Yeah, that'll do…
(Nice to be back, Mr. Sun, thanks!)
