There is a book, 1001 Albums You Must Hear before You Die.  The Beatles score 7 albums on the author’s list:

With the Beatles

A Hard Day’s Night

Rubber Soul

Revolver

Sgt Pepper ‘s Lonely Hearts Club Band

The Beatles

Abbey Road

Any one you would change or add?

BTW, they are not the musicians that score the most on the list.  The most were 9 by (This will make @Beatlebug happy) David Bowie

How is the White Album or Let It Be not one of the seven. My dad would be furious. Cancelled!

The White Album is, @sir walter raleigh, under it’s official title of The Beatles — listed between Pepper and AR.

Well, I personally would choose my favourite seven. That would be every album from Rubber Soul to Let It Be with the exception of Yellow Submarine . Not that I don’t enjoy Please Please Me or Beatles For Sale . But the experimentation and “album-like” quality of those latter records are much more of a required listen for me. And if I were to pick two early records they wouldn’t be With the Beatles & A Hard Day’s Night . It would be Please Please Me and Beatles For Sale ahdn_paul_02

7/13 is a much higher percentage, though, compared to 9/27. Just for perspective. Lies, damned lies, and statistics, y’know a-hard-days-night-john-6

I guess if I were to limit myself to seven of the boys’ studio LPs, I’d pretty much choose the same seven, maybe change WTB to PPM .

I had to dig in the garage for my own copy of the book, xmas gift from Von Sis a few yrs back, just for curiosity. I’ve heard about 475, not even half, so I better get going…

Oh, and Led Zep are 4 for 8…
