Maybe I’m just a little OCD, but I like things in order (I am a Sargeant after all) and I can’t quite figure out why iTunes doesn’t have the mono album covers in their vast database.
I know that on most of the covers there are either no changes or the only difference is the word “mono” instead of “stereo”, but I find the album covers to be a good reference of what version I’m listening to if I have sub-par separation between my left and right channels (i.e. my laptop speakers) and I’m a little of a completionist.
I have found images online of the mono covers and some are even crisper and of better quality than the iTunes provided stereo artwork!
I’m done ranting now. Feel free to share my frustration, ignore it, make fun of it, consider it, etc.
Anyone know why the covers aren’t in the iTunes database? (other than the fact iTunes doesn’t offer the album [I have ripped several cds onto my iTunes that aren’t available in the store, but have popped up with the correct artwork])

If you find the album artwork you like more than what itunes provided, you can right click the album and select get info. In the album artwork section right click and paste what you want. Just make sure the size of the image is 300 x 300 first.
I have the mono covers for the mono albums and stereo covers for the stereo albums. It hard to notice on the ipod, but I know it is correct.
I just wish you could assign a custom album cover for a playlist

600×600, actually. That’s the size of the iTunes Store art.
