Its officially here! What do yall think of it? Personally I think it is great. I think it is arranged much better than the first one and sounds more like a radio broadcast.
I haven’t been able to totally select a favorite yet but it is right now looking like these renditions of Till There Was You and Memphis Tennessee are the front runners.
Yes, nice set and I agree, it flows better than the first set – though of course the first one had more that was new to many of us. I liked Roll Over Beethoven , Twist And Shout and, like you, Memphis Tennessee.

I’m still debating whether to plunk down for these or not, especially since there’s nothing new on them for me. The only thing attracting me, besides being a completist, is the presentation. Someone try to convince me I *need* these…

I bought mine at Sunrise Records here in Ontario, Canada, and I got a poster and my choice between a BBC Vol. 2 CD sampler and a 5-track 45 rpm. Obviously I took the vinyl! Not bad for $18.99.
Oh, that’s a great incentive. I wonder if they’re offering that at other stores to the first few buyers, sort of like the lighted cube for “New.” DrBeatle, maybe you should ask that store you like!

I haven’t gotten around to buying them as music stores want £15 for each volume or £33 for “The Collection” (online its £13 & £31) . I would be far more willing if i got a cd or vinyl sampler and poster.

DrBeatle, I actually downloaded the leak of the album when it come out a while ago, and enjoyed it so much I decided that I wanted to have a physical copy of my own. Something about how I would have a laugh with the cheeky banter made me feel bad if I was to just steal it. The packaging as was said is amazing as well, and what is better than holding something you buy in your hands.

I have to admit a bit of disappointment in the overall apathy towards spending money on physical purchase here…
Please remember folks: This stuff isn’t free. It has real value, not just economically but culturally. A real copy with the beautiful packaging and booklet is a thing of beauty. AND… This is the first “new” official release in 4 years. Bask in it, because this might very well be the last Beatles CD ever released.

No apathy from down here – I think I am becoming slightly infamous in these parts for spending way over the money for physical copies of stuff!!
[EDIT] Oh, and let’s not forget that MP3s sound like s**t on any decent sort of equipment – there, I swore, never thought you’d see it did you?

There are going to be other Beatles cd’s released, let’s not get too ahead of things.
Since i was one of those who posted about price of cd’s i will say that i always buy cd’s whenever possible, even bought the remastered red and blue digipacks just for the clean ADITL intro. Its just that £26 is a lot of money for music i already have – but then i have the remasters in mono and stereo – the Beatle buying world is full of… (oh, i cant think of the world, hypocrisy comes to mind but that’s too strong).

Red and Blue, they came together in a cardboard box (like with the new BBC Collection). I wanted the remastered clean intro, saw the cd set in the shop and went on impulse. For the new BBC volumes i am getting both but not the collection box. See Apple, you only get £26 quid off me for stuff i already have and don’t really need, so ha, who’s the idiot now.

I ended up not buying these…nothing new for me and the money can be better spent on something else at the moment. That being said, they do look like they’re presented nicely and I’ll probably end up getting them at some point down the road
