‘Get Back ‘ wasnt a demo before Spector got his hands on it. It had already been a fully fleshed number 1 single; Spector added some dialogue to the beginning and end but left the music the same – except lopping off the end coda which wasn’t even from the same take/performance (hence its omission from ‘Let It Be Naked’ which just makes you think they forgot about it as it sounds daft without. Another reason for my loathing of that album. “As The Beatles Intended” – they did intend the coda you stupid Apple idiots, it just broke down so they added another on. But you cant have that even tho you can edit other performances together when the mood suits on the album. ).
I think i need therapy to deal with my feelings towards ‘Let It Be Naked’.

- I Me Mine – One of my favourite Beatles songs written by George Harrison .
- Across The Universe – I love the psychedelic feel of it. I prefer the Let It Be version, which I am more used to, to the Wildlife version, which I think sounds wrong and out of tune.
- I’ve Got A Feeling – I like Paul’s vocals on this song, and the parts where John is singing.
- Two Of Us
- One After 909
- The Long And Winding Road – I enjoy it more than I used to.
- Get Back – I like this version, but I still prefer the single version.
- Let it Be – I like the single version more, probably because I am more used to it.
- Maggie Mae
- For You Blue
- Dig It
- Dig A Pony – Sometimes I enjoy it, and other times I just think it’s annoying.

I have to admit it. I don’t know every song on this album by heart. I do for most of the Beatles album but this one just seems to be all over the place. But very well i’m going to attempt to rank it, worst to best.
12:Dig It (1/10)
Even worse than Wild Honey Pie . That says a lot.
11:Maggie Mae (2/10)
Better than Dig It . But that doesn’t say a lot.
10:One After 909 (4/10)
Doesn’t seem finished? Seem like a filler.
9:For You Blue (4/10)
Not a great song. Sorry.
8:I Me Mine (5/10)
Pretty good song. I like it.
7:Get Back (6/10)
Good song. Great song. Not amazing song.
6:The Long And Winding Road (7/10)
Better on Let It Be …Naked. But still a good song. A bit overproduced.
5:Dig A Pony (7/10)
Great song. Could have been made better tho.
4:I’ve Got A Feeling (8/10)
I love this song. One of the few songs on this album that i wouldn’t want to change a thing about.
3:Across The Universe (9/10)
I absolutely love this song. However it seems like it could have been made even better. I don’t know how though.
2:Two Of Us (9/10)
I did rank this song as the best song on Let It Be on another thread. However i just can’t take Let It Be out of the spotlight. Like several other songs on this album. It feels like it could have been made even better. That’s why it’s a 9/10 not 10/10.
1:Let It Be (10/10)
Probably the only “perfect” song on the album. What a mess this album is. I love it.

12. Dig It – I don’t mind this as an interlude until John’s spoken word part at the end.
11. Maggie Mae – Much the same as above.
10. For You Blue – I like this song but it is one the weaker tracks. I do like the slide guitar though.
9. The Long And Winding Road – I used to hate this song with a passion but grew to like it after the Let It Be …Naked version.
8. I’ve Got A Feeling – I like Paul’s belting vocals and then John’s more subtle section. It makes for an intereting song.
7. Let It Be – Great song but I prefer the single version to the album version. I love George’s guitar solo on this one.
6. One After 909 – I’m glad this song was revived. It sounds great.
5. Get Back – Great song. John’s lead and Billy Preston make this song great in my opinon.
4. Across The Universe – Great lyrics but I think I do prefer the Anthology version over this one.
3. I Me Mine – I love this song and one of the best things Phil Spector did was extend this song.
2. Dig A Pony – This song seems to get mixed reactions but I love it. I like the lyrics, melody, and the guitar solo.
1. Two Of Us – Probably my favourite on the record. I know it was written about Paul and Linda but I do like to think of it being about John and Paul, although this song being about Paul and Linda is still a nice thought.
And in the end the lunch you take is equal to the lunch you bake.

This album is probably my least liked Beatles album, but it would easily be my favorite Rolling Stones album if they made it. I say that ’cause most of the album kinda feels (to me) like the kind of rock the Stones would do, but the Beatles did it better.
1. Across The Universe – beautiful poetry & beautifully moving music to carry it
2. I Me Mine – catchy & emotional
3. Two Of Us – love the mood, rhythm, melody, & lyrics of this song
4. For You Blue – catchy & kinda fun feelin’. This album needed this song to lighten it up a bit
5. Dig A Pony – raw, rockin’, & catchy
6. Dig It – very Dylanish with a motown feel & I hear it as an early rap song. Too short!
7. Get Back – decent rocker with some drive
8. I’ve Got A Feeling – Love John’s part, but Paul’s doesn’t reach me
9. The Long And Winding Road – I’m missing something about this one, but it’s not bad
10. Let It Be – a very formulated generic power pop ballad. Not too keen on this one
11. Maggie Mae – eehh whatever. This is a waste of time.
12. One After 909 – Nice attempt, but not worth the time
I think the album would’ve been vastly better if they’d kept Maggie Mae & One After 909 off it, and used The Ballad of John & Yoko and Old Brown Shoe instead. Also, the full 5 minute version of Dig It would’ve been a good move. I notice a lot of you don’t like that snippet but I think the full song would’ve been better for a lot of people. I haven’t listened to Let It Be …Naked. I’m not sure why, but I’ve avoided it.
& for the curious, there’s been 33 rankings (including mine), and the average ranking for each song up to this point is…
3.73 – Two Of Us
3.82 – Across The Universe
4.55 – I’ve Got A Feeling
5.12 – I Me Mine
5.30 – Get Back
5.39 – Let It Be
6.06 – Dig A Pony
7.09 – One After 909
7.15 – The Long And Winding Road
8.00 – For You Blue
10.76 – Maggie Mae
11.03 – Dig It

May have attempted this before but here goes:
12. Dig It – Why this was included is beyond me, what a waste of space that could be filled by ‘Old Brown Shoe ‘ or ‘Don’t Let Me Down ‘.
11. Maggie Mae – It’s a nice interlude but it’s pointless overall.
10. One After 909 – It has energy, which is rare on this album, but other than that it’s as close as the Fab Four get to scraping the barrel.
9. For You Blue – I really like the intro guitar and the slide, but the melody irritates me, it’s like a fly buzzing around my room that I can’t get out of the window.
*this is where the songs get good*
8. Dig A Pony – Kind of pointless, but I absolutely adore the lead guitar work.
7. I’ve Got A Feeling – Great rocker, I’m actually surprised it’s this low.
6. The Long And Winding Road – Really, really beautiful lyrics and melody, and I like the orchestra especially at the end but I can’t stand the choir.
5. Get Back – Just a straight ahead rocker, with some great lead guitar from John.
4. I Me Mine – Hugely underrated. It’s only slightly below George’s top tier songs like Something .
3. Across The Universe – Absolutely stunning lyrics, definitely one of John’s stronger songs.
2. Let It Be – Epic power ballad that somehow contains both the blueprint for Oasis’s entire career and every 80s hair metal love song, albeit better.
1. Two Of Us – Raw and personal. Just lovely. Makes me emotional when I marathon the band as it reminds me how close Lennon-McCartney was to the end.

1. Across The Universe – Such a beautiful song. The first time I heard this song ( Anthology version ) I just sat back and lost myself. This song is amazing. The lyrics aree great, rather meaningless though compared to other Lennon songs. But the lyrics are really just poetry here. And they fit perfect with the song. The melody is great. I do prefer the anthology version however. But still this version is amazing.
2. The Long And Winding Road – I MUCH prefer the Let It Be Naked version. This version is great though. Love the lyrics.
3. Two Of Us
4. I Me Mine
5. Let It Be – I don’t like it as much as others it seems, still great song, just repetitive
7. Get Back
8. Dig A Pony
10. For You Blue
11. Maggie Mae
12. Dig It

This album in my opinion is one of the weaker ones, but that doesn’t make me not like it. It’s still great.
1. Let It Be – I’m mainstream, yes let me know. I have heard this song so many times, and it doesn’t get old for me.
2. The Long And Winding Road – I still love this song, even though after listening to the Anthology and Naked versions, it’s so much better. Not that I don’t like this song.
3. Across The Universe – Originally was number 2, but the arrangement on this album ruins it for me would have been much better as an acoustic type piece, still beautiful.
4. Get Back
5. One After 909 – Underrated rocker…
6. I’ve Got A Feeling
7. Two Of Us
8. I Me Mine
9. Dig A Pony
10. For You Blue

“Let It Be ” is not (in many people’s eyes) overrated, at least in my opinion. But I do agree that it is very overplayed.
I’m perhaps the only one in the entirety of the Beatles fanbase who really likes Maggie Mae

Very mixed bag, so it goes kind of weird.
12) Maggie Mae – this is not only one of the worst tracks on a Beatles record, but it is also one of the mindless, most obnoxious demos that could’ve been released. it is less than one minute long and it still pisses me off. like come on, they sound like The Rutles, John Lennon literally sounds like Eric Idle, to a terrifying level of similarity. why is it in the album? why this and no Don’t Let Me Down ? what the f**k? 1/10
11) For You Blue – sorry, George, but this is mostly crap. it is very persistent yet completely empty. both the instrumental and the lyrics. 3/10
10) Dig It – it is short and it is pointless, but I heard the complete 12-minute jam session on the documentary and actually, it sounds awesome. like in a blues, improvisational studio jam context, it is fantastic. so actually, my low placement isn’t because I don’t like it, but because it is short enough to even feel like a middle finger from Spector, like “ha ha, you’re not even getting the full version”. man, what a waste, really. 3/10
9) One After 909 – I enjoy the attempt, but it’s just not near great Beatles material. it mostly just ends up feeling like filler. 6/10
8) Across The Universe – conceptually, and lyrically, it is stellar. but the mix is just embarrassing. John sounds watered and the strings are weird, it is all over the place and overproduced. it is an interesting track nontheless, but it was just ruined, which mostly ends up making it a frustrating experience to me. 6/10
7) The Long And Winding Road – I like the melody on its own right, but considering Paul’s passion for piano ballads in general, I think this isn’t his best work, and it is also overproduced, even tho not as much as Across The Universe . 6/10
6) Get Back – I also feel it could’ve been better. but it is just lacking ideas, and the country melody never was my style, personally. 6/10
5) Two of Us – pretty solid. the melody is engaging, and Paul and John really sound hopeful and friendly. it is still the simple country acoustic melancholic type of track it humbly admits to be, but it delivers. changes in time signature make it interesting as well. 7/10
4) Let It Be – I think the over saturation of this song on popular culture has made me a little skeptic of its greatness. but I can’t deny it, Paul was certainly inspired, and it is memorable and beautiful in many levels. it’s just not the song that makes this album special to me. 8/10
3) I Me Mine – what people get when they listen to While My Guitar Gently Weeps , is what I get when I listen to I Me Mine , which to me is not only criminally underrated, but also one of George’s best songs. the contrast between the verses and the chorus is excellent, the guitar recording is polished, the chord progression sounds priceless and Spector’s production and orchestration here sound called for, feel powerful and transform it into something special. 8/10
2) Dig A Pony – if you got a problem with this song you got a problem with me. I just hate how people talk about this track. John’s melodies are one more memorable than the other, the guitar riffs are neat and spectacular. few times The Beatles captured so much raw energy and dirty aesthetics as much as in this song. and apart from all that, it still manages to be beautiful. “I… I… I… dig a poooony”, the way it just goes up and then goes down is masterful. I’m genuinely surprised this song isn’t as well known, as it is to me one of the rawest Beatles songs there is, and it is accordingly recorded. 9/10
1) I’ve Got A Feeling – one of the best Beatles song. it is so prophetic of 70s hard rock, it is so beautifully balanced between Paul and John. Paul’s part is hard and unmistakably inspired, while John’s section is lyrically poetic and sometimes hilarious. and the way they fusion at the end is inspiring, and to me is the most beautiful moment on the rooftop video. it even feels as a representation of the band’s attitude at that point. Paul and John try to one up each other, and in the attempt end up making some of their best material. so the song also represents The Beatles as a whole, in a way. apart from Don’t Let Me Down (which would easily be first place if it was on the album), this song is the greatest thing: the riff, the lyrics, the melodies, the progression. I’ve Got A Feeling is something else. 10/10
