I've already seen most of the musical clips (including all the rooftop ones) at various points in the recent past, but now I gotta see the whole thing! I'll set aside some time this week before the thread dies.
GEORGE: In fact, The Detroit Sound. JOHN: In fact, yes. GEORGE: In fact, yeah. Tamla-Motown artists are our favorites. The Miracles. JOHN: We like Marvin Gaye. GEORGE: The Impressions PAUL & GEORGE: Mary Wells. GEORGE: The Exciters. RINGO: Chuck Jackson. JOHN: To name but eighty.

OK, watching parts 1 and 2 now. Some thoughts:
– Cool to hear “Two Of Us ” in progress! Didn't sound half bad as an electric semi-rocker.
– George employing his (new?) Wah-Wah pedal a lot in rehearsal! Wonder why he never (ever) used it on record?
– Fun piano duet between Paul and “Richie”!
– Electric “Across The Universe ” sounding pretty rough, especially the harmonies. Can't believe they thought they could improve on the original.
Paul: Yeah well… first of all, we’re bringing out a ‘Stamp Out Detroit’ campaign.

Some First thoughts: (I Only watched the first 3 parts)
- Terrible audio quality
- What on Earth was that Maxwell's Silver Hammer? *Shudders*
- Two of Us is awesome electric
- Paul is really bossy (see the Two of Us argument)
- The crazy jazz piano song is really funky
- I really sympathize with George
- Across The Universe isn’t bad, but George’s guitar is quite good
- Suzy Parker should have been released on Anthology 3
- John’s a good dancer
- Besame Mucho est Fantastico
- George was good to Ringo.

I want to watch it over the weekend. Don't tell me how it ends or you'll ruin it.
To the fountain of perpetual mirth, let it roll for all its worth. And all the children boogie.

SPOILER – They pass the audition!
I asked you not to tell me! Now I have to find something else to do this weekend.
Ah well – at least I can now throw away the bucket of sleeping pills under my bed. I was so worried about how the audition would go it was keeping me awake nights.
Thanks Von!

Mhhh this makes me get into the mood of watching LiB again. When I was a kid, I saw it 2 times in a row in the movie theater when I was 8. So I always think of LiB as “Sore butt”
Here comes the sun….. Scoobie-doobie……
Something in the way she moves…..attracts me like a cauliflower…
Bop. Bop, cat bop. Go, Johnny, Go.
