It has some of my favorite songs, Two of Us and Across The Universe would definitely make my top 10, and there are some other really good songs on the album. I just think there are a lot of decent songs on the album, Lennon’s songs are good but not as good as most others, the Harrisongs are good but not quite as good as others, and Macca has a few average songs on there. I think it’s missing one really great Lennon contribution, I like to add Don’t Let Me Down and get rid of One After 909 .

Eh, I don't really care for “Don't Let Me Down.”

I don't think anyone dislikes Let it Be. It's a very good album, on the order of Magical Mystery Tour . It's just not a GREAT album on the order of Sgt. Pepper , Revolver , White Album , Rubber Soul , and Abbey Road .
It's funny that an album like Let it Be, with timeless classics like “Get Back “, “Let it Be”, “Across The Universe ,” and “Two of Us”, is considered a lesser album. It would be the crowning achievement of almost any other band.

I could live without some of Spector's Wall Of Sound but I love 'The One After 909 ' I play that one and 'I've Got A Feeling' all the time.

Let It Be is an okay album, but not one of my favorites. It has some great songs, but some not so great ones. For example Dig It , Maggie May, and One After 909 . And I'm probably one of the few that likes The Long And Winding Road the way it is. It's fine, yes the choir is a bit much, but I think it sounds good.

The album is placed 7th after MMT. Some great songs on that album but like we all know, it was over produced. Like Across The Universe . The Anthology version is so much better without the Spector effects. AtU has some of my favorite lyrics ever but because of how it is produced, I can't help but dismiss the song all together. George's songs are my favorite off the album. They don't sound overbearing. Let It Be (song) is amazing as always, but Paul's songs seemed a bit lacklustered. Get Back would be an exception to this though. This would be an example of the musicianship the band is ultimately known for.
What I found encouraging was the return of the shared vocals between John and Paul, especially in I've Got a Feeling and Two of Us (which really isn't a great album opener). There just seems to be a bit of diplomacy there.
I can say that it is my 3rd fav album cover. Mainly do to George's smile

“Don't Let Me Down” is one of those songs that doesn't quite measure up at first. After a few years of listening, however, its soulful expression just takes hold of you. Give it a while…you'll see. It's a wonderful song. If for nothing else, you gotta love Paul's bass line.
Oh. So it has to grow on you.
About the bassline thing: That's true for just about everything!

I prefer to listen to LiB naked. I find this album “love-this-one-hate-that-one” songs. The best ones (like Don't let me down) are just fantastic, but don't make me listen to Spector's Across The Universe . It makes me cringe.
