I like to dream of a huge box: “The Beatles 1969: The Complete Get Back /Abbey Road Sessions”
Ringo originally wrote different lyrics to Octopus’s Garden :
I’d like to dream of a huge box,
with the complete Get Back and Abbey Road sessions.
It would be great, despite the state
of the complete Get Back and Abbey Road sessions.
We would hear every version of each song,
maybe once, but I don’t really mind.
I’d like to get, my sweaty mitts
on the complete Get Back and Abbey Road sessions.
It weighs a tonne. It wasn’t fun,
but it’s the complete Get Back and Abbey Road sessions.
The guys would shout, and then walk out
of the complete Get Back and Abbey Road sessions.
George would leave his biscuits on his amp,
Yoko would eat them all herself.
I’ll admit, the band were s**t,
during the Get Back and Abbey Road sessions.
Perhaps instead, the Grateful Dead
will invite me to sit in for a few shows.
And oh what joy, to be in the Pink Floyd,
knowing that the band wont come to blows.
I would be so happy on my own,
knowing Paul can’t tell me how to drum.
I’d rather be Pete Best you see,
in a rat-infested inner-city slum.

[Clever Parody Lyrics]
The funny part is that Ringo actually did have different lyrics to Octopus’s Garden . There’s a verse that goes something like:
I’d like to be under the sea
In an Octopus’s Garden in the shade
It would be nice in paradise
In an Octopus’s Garden in the shade

I take it that that is fake as surely Apple will be pouring out the marketing for ‘Abbey Road ‘ which is due in a couple of weeks, not slipping out details of a future release seven months away.

‘Twould be interesting if it did prove a genuine leak, though.
Packaging the film and album together wouldn’t surprise.
8CDs would be a turn-up and give lots to speculate on.

There will certainly be an altogether package which includes the film, music, book etc as there will be many fans who will be buying it.
If it is 8 CDs it certainly opens up the speculation of what would be included in those. One will be a remix of the original album maybe with the relevant singles added and, whilst I highly doubt Apple would throw in ‘Naked’, it would be a staggering omission if at least one of the Glyn Johns compilations didn’t feature. If so that would leave six CDs of music from January 1969 and possibly material from the later recording sessions where overdubbing took place. It wouldn’t surprise me if Apple gave us something from January 1970 as well – maybe Paul will push for Phil Spector’s score for ‘TLAWR’ to be included (April 1970).

I saw 8 CDs and almost jumped out of my seat in excitement. The White Album box was only 6 CDs, the Sgt Pepper box was only 4 CDs, and the Abbey Road box will only be 3 CDs. I can’t imagine this one being more than 5, despite the fact that it would be cool if there were more.

I’d say it’s fake, not the prettiest of advertisements. We all appreciate Apple and celebrate it for the glorious corporation that it is but the sheer ‘look’ of that poster is very dreary and uninspiring.
Would get a new person to design it if that’s what the creative team churned out as the ideal ad.

It wouldn’t surprise me much if any print ads/advertising posters weren’t pretty similar. Apple have kept pretty close to the original artwork.
Let It Be never had the most inspiring artwork, ASJ.
Of all their albums, @William Shears Campbell, LIB is probably the one with the most unreleased material, especially when the Nagra tapes are added to the equation. That’s going to be the important thing, what can be done with the Nagras.
Yes, there’s a lot of dross in the many hours that have leaked but there are also many great moments, some worthwhile jokey performances, and a lot of songs that there are no other recordings of.
It’s the one album you could easily do 8 CDs on without repeating any particular song too often.
My own best-of is 15 discs.

It is a fake, first appearing on Facebook, so you can throw the details in the bin.
Haha, I knew it!
Oh also I wasn’t criticising the look of the product itself RN, more in the way that ad is presented, it looks like it’s very cheaply made.
I’m sure the actual boxset will look similar to the one portrayed in that ad.

Don’t forget, there is already an 8 CD set out there called “The Twickenham Sessions”. It’s overkill, but it’s out there!

And with that, the new mix Abbey Road is done. Now on to Let It Be ! Even though the new mixes of Abbey Road are great, “I’ve Got A Feeling ,” that the new mixes of Let It Be will be even better. I CAN’T WAIT TO HEAR NEW MIXES OF Across The Universe , I Me Mine AND LET IT BE!!! I would really like a clean up on I Me Mine as when comparing Georges vocal quality on the Let It Be album compared with how it it on Anthology 3 and Let It Be Naked, the difference in quality is quite odd. Seriously, if they just got the Let It Be Naked version of I Me Mine and but Phil Spector’s orchestral arrangement on top, I’ll be happy as on Let It Be Naked, they cut away the electric guitar at the start of the second verse to make it sound more different when the second verse is repeated again which I really like as it makes the edit cleaner and not just an obvious repeat hidden under Spector’s “Wall Of Sound.”
Just thinking of all the extra material with it (excluding the additional takes) makes me giddy, like maybe the more rock version of Two Of Us , a full version of Dig It , the full rooftop concert, all the jamming sessions, both of Glyn Johns mixes of the album (heck maybe they should just officially release the Get Back albums) and of course, all the cut songs! Songs like All Things Must Pass , Another Day , Taking A Trip To Carolina, The Back Seat Of My Car , Gimme Some Truth , Hear Me Lord , Let It Down , Suzy Parker, Teddy Boy and Watching Rainbows! You could probably make a full album of outtake songs just like how the Super Deluxe release of The White Album had a full double LP of demo songs.
I would also like to see new mixes of the single versions of Get Back and Let It Be and also new mixes of the World Wildlife version of Across The Universe , Don’t let Me Down and maybe also You know My name (Look Up The Number) (even though I don’t really think it should be released along with the album as it would better suit a Magical Mystery Tour deluxe edition) like how they had the accompanying single for Sgt Pepper ‘s, Strawberry Fields Forever and Penny Lane , be released with it’s deluxe edition but seeing how they didn’t release new mixes of Hey Jude and Revolution with The White Album ‘s deluxe edition or new mixes of The Ballad Of John And Yoko and Old Brown Shoe with Abbey Road ‘s deluxe edition, that probably won’t happen.

So far it’s been Giles remixes George, but here, if with this we get a straight remix by Giles of the original album, it will be Giles remixing Phil Spector.
That is a good question for sure… I would be willing to bet that it will be remixes of the 1970 album. There is a bunch of deep knowledge on this site and opinions, but you have to keep in mind this is for the less educated audiance as well. The masses listening to Let It Be right now is 1970 album, or of course the 2009 remaster.

I want Madman, Watching Rainbows, The Palace of the King of Birds, a full-length Dig It and All Things Must Pass properly mixed, balanced and edited from the available materials for a start even if that means combining available versions, with modern day overdubs by Paul and Ringo over the original Nagra sound to flesh them out if possible. I can dream…
