Just for fun at Xmas, it’s possible to create a Beatles album just featuring Ringo as lead vocalist – but what order do you think would flow best?
With A Little Help From My Friends
If You’ve Got Troubles
* The Real Love single version with extended intro for me. I make the lot 32:50. Anything I’ve missed?

I think there is a very obvious intro and outro: You start with With A Little Help From My Friends , and you end with Good Night . I would also put Honey Don’t , Act Naturally , What Goes On , and Don’t Pass Me By back to back since they are all Country music. That’s almost enough for a full side, so I’ll keep all of that to side 2 + Good Night and Octopus’s Garden .
I think this would be my order:
Side 1
1. With A Little Help From My Friends
2. Boys
3. Matchbox
Side 2
10. Honey Don’t
11. What Goes On
12. Good Night

You’d have to mess this up a bit.
These are all quite simple sings and don’t reflect The Beatles music as a unit or Ringos’ unique input to their sound.
I’d include ‘The End ‘, (Ringos’ only drum solo, which he was so reluctant to do), and I’d have to employ Peter Jacksons team to bring out the drums from at least half of the tracks on Revolver …then I’d have to talk to the team behind the Love remixes to give some context as to how his drums and triangles and bongos and what not put so much meat on the bones of some of the groups’ most enduring songs. (Sorry to all the vegetarians out there about the ‘meat and bones’ thing).

Personally I’d open with one of Ringo’s own compositions to highlight his songwriting contribution but I’m not sure you’d get a often returned to album. Maybe just bunch the covers all together on side two after ‘WALHFMF’ and then end with ‘Good Night ‘. Ringo’s material is great but I think all together on one album would be too much.
I once compiled all George’s Beatles vocals together chronologically (adding in the outtakes, demos etc whilst omitting the BBC material that was never on a studio album) and it was quite a fabulous experience, especially as it progressed thru the albums.
