I think mine might be With The Beatles . Not the obvious choice, I know, and not one of their ‘iconic’ covers either but I dunno, I like the simplicity of it, the sombre-ness, the fact that George looks so young still….
I totally agree- they look gorgeous in those polo-necked jumpers, and the black-and-white is cool. I like the way that they’re all sombre and mysterious on the WTB cover, in contrast to the happy moptops on the PPM cover. Its another one of their never-do-the-same-thing-twice things. They kept looking for new and suprising ideas.
My other favourite cover is Revolver because its original yet classy- not gaudy like Sgt Pepper .

My favourite is definitely Revolver . I like Sgt. Pepper and With the Beatles too and I think A Hard Day’s Night is cute.
I don’t really like Beatles For Sale . They all look tired and old and that thing on George’s hair isn’t doing much good either. And MMT looks like some kid did it on Paint.

Haha, Please Please Me is one of my least-favourites! I love the concept, and the photograph itself, but all that ugly lettering really clutters it up. Especially that huge yellow THE BEATLES in all-caps – yellow is a colour that I particularly dislike. But I realize that pop-music albums aimed at young people weren’t expected to have cutting-edge graphic design in those days.
Really, I think 1962-1966 uses the same concept in a so much nicer setting – attractive uniform red border all around and nothing encroaching on the photograph itself.

I think The White Album ‘s cover is awesome. I don’t know, it’s so simple and they look amazing in the pictures.

The Beatles (The White Album ) is a truly remarkable cover. For all the talk of how different their previous covers to those of “pop” albums, there had never been a cover like it in any field that I can think of.
To just have that blank white canvas, with no information other than the band’s name/album’s title embossed, and a number, it was as avant garde a statement as Revolution 9 .
And then you open the gatefold and get those beautiful b&w pictures of the boys, and the tracklisting in a silver-gray that barely breaks the white.
For all the adventure and bravery of earlier album covers, all of which I love, nothing was more adventurous or brave than giving the world that blank white canvas. “What’ll we put on the cover?” “Nothing.” “Oh, nothing is real!”

I think I mentioned this a long time ago — the word “album” is a Latin word that means “white thing” (it’s the neuter adjective of “albus” masculine, and “alba” is the feminine — so Jessica Alba is literally a “white female”).
I agree the White Album was very innovative. I have a feeling it was John’s idea.
My favorites are
1. Revolver
2. White Album
3. Abbey Road .
I really don’t like any other covers, though Sgt. Pepper is fun to look at.

I really love The Magical Mystery Tour EP
It too looks a bit like it was done on MS paint, but I much prefer this! Trrpi
I also like Rubber Soul ‘s a lot as well. And the cover for George’s Dark Horse is also a personal favorite

That’s a perfect description- the cover and the music are classy, original, haunting, avante-gaurd and effortlesly cool.

I myself have always liked Please Please Me for some reason, it definitely up there in my favorite. I also like Revolver because it’s so exciting and there’s so much going on. I love Sgt Peppers because it is very exciting but is in color which makes it all the better and plus who can forget all the effort the boy’s put into it. And lastly Abbey Road , it’s like the face of the Beatles in a way and I’ve always liked it(it’s also what for the longest time as a kid almost got me ran over at cross walks).

Same here!
A Hard Day’s Night is the second best. Usually I don’t like too colourful covers, but that depends on my mood.

Sorry, but Abbey Road is just brilliant. White Album is bold, Sgt. Pepper ‘s is classic, but Abbey Road is just perfect

I think this is one of their MOST iconic covers, and had a huge influence on album covers in the early and mid 60s, and then of course they did it all again in 1967.
