Hi all,
I recently picked up a 7″ copy on Apple records I can’t track down. Any help or hints would be most welcome. Thanks in advance!
The side with the bright green Granny Smith apple (probably the A-side) states: “No Matter What” by Badfinger.
The flipside (with the cross section of the apple) states: “Why” by Yoko Ono Plastic Ono Band.
It’s made in France by Pathe Marconi.

C 006-04726 M B
I searched all over the internet but there seems to be no mention of this particular combination between Badfinger on one side & Plastic Ono Band on the other side.
Could this be a misprint?
Thanks for your time!

I have 2 albums by the fab 4 (well I have them all but this post refers to 2 of them) that appear to be Bootleg but I cannot find any reference to them anywhere, The covers are in the style of ‘Let it be’ with 4 photo’s centered – the colour of one is Blue the other is Red (so very similar to official releases), does anybody know where I can find these catalogued, explained or otherwise accounted for – thanks all.

Do you have pictures of the albums? That might help as well.

It was a post in a thread that I moved over here. Start reading at post 36 in this thread. You were responding to that conversation, @Expert Textpert.

Those posts are in exactly the same order they were in the other thread. When I move the posts, I noted what posts go together.

Point taken. But there are now multiple conversations in one thread.
But isn’t that what nearly every thread is, apart from those that die out in a post or two because there ain’t much to say.

I suppose, but it still bothers me that the forum is constantly being rearranged. Just a pet peeve.

Forum rearranging is actually very minimal and generally, we tend to hold back where possible, even locking and redirecting where possible.

Well, something bothers me. It may not be the thing that I think is bothering me. But I’m pretty sure the thing that bothers me is here on the forum, whatever it is.

So 2 years ago when I used to browse discogs, I remember running into lots of cool unofficial bootlegs and foreign Beatles records you could buy. However, now they’ve banned the sales of most of them.
Does anyone know another site where you can get a hold of bootlegs like that. I know I could check ebay and whatnot, but I’m more looking to see if there’s a site like discogs that organizes stuff by pressing and specializes in the sale of records and things like that.

I highly doubt the 2009s were ever sold like this but for me, it was a cool purchase nonetheless.
What is happening? And tell me how you've been.

Seeing as they seems to be general bootleg discussion, I have a question that I’m going to aim at @Ron Nasty but if anyone else can answer, go on ahead.
Where do bootlegs come from?!? Like the Esher Demos were just casually recorded at George’s house, how did they get out? Legally, I don’t think any of the participants on the demos could have sold them but how did they get into the public space?

Stolen, leaked by people who work in the studios/with the recordings, recordings given to others by the artists themselves or people close to them (Ringo gave Peter Sellers early mixes of tracks from the ‘White Album ‘ that eventually were bootlegged and I’m pretty sure the first Get Back bootlegs found their way to the radio station that aired them thru members of the the Beatles camp), from acetates that turn up auctions (many early mixes of Beatles songs were copied for the Beatles themselves or others to take home for multiple reasons), found in the collections of the artists. John had a lot of material which found it’s way out after he died due to being stolen – his copy of the Esher demos is the one that was bootlegged years ago, George’s copy is the one they used for the official releases. Yoko made available a whole bunch of material for the Westwood Radio shows that became the Lost Lennon Tapes series and these were for the source for upgrades years later. Reels of outtakes have even been found in skips having been thrown out by the recording studios. I remember reading that reels of Beatles tapes were borrowed from EMI, taken away to be copied and then returned a day or so later; I think that is how the John Barrett tapes got out (Barrett was given the job of going thru the archives when he was seriously ill in the early 80’s and some of his mixes were used in 1982(?) when EMI opened their doors to the public to hear Beatles outtakes. Not that Barrett was the one who did the copying). ‘Sessions’, an EMI compilation of Beatles outtakes prepared in the mid-80’s that was ultimately rejected by Apple, found it’s way out as limited numbers of LP’s were printed. Much of the BBC material was taped off the radio when aired in the 60’s.
It’s different nowadays due to the internet and anything can be put online with little chance of being traced back. Today bootlegs are done by people putting it online (most often for free) and it’s these that are later pressed onto CD’s and sold by others who had nothing to do with the process at all (recording, compiling, uploading etc). That’s why the advice is almost always never pay for bootleg recordings. As always tho this is not a blanket rule nor that simple. Some labels have sources for all new never-before-bootlegged material but they have to pay large sums of money for the songs/films and therefore they rely on the fans paying as this raises the funds.
There is also a ton of Beatles material (demo’s, outtakes, concerts, rehearsals etc) not circulating that is in the hands of and available to very few others (and I don’t mean people like Paul). Presumably they take it out having ensured the room is not bugged and no one has their phones on record mode.
