Offline I don't really like “Yesterday ” due to the fact that it's so overrated. It's good, but not that good. They were embarrassed of it at first, but it's like people CONVINCED Paul to like it. The melody can get obnoxious. I like it, but not all that much.

I feel the same way. It’s become very overplayed and I don’t like that it’s one of their songs that everybody who doesn’t really listen to them associates with them. It is a good song and it’s well-written, but I don’t consider it a good snapshot of what they’re capable of.

I’m looking at this list again, and I have to admit I have changed my mind on quite a few of these songs. It’s just amazing how good the Beatles are. One day, you really like this song by them, then the next day, you find another song that you like better.

I think the number 1's are his favorites. Though I'll never understand someone like Dizzy Miss Lizzy over I've Just Seen a Face. Different strokes! That's the lovely thing about The Beatles…so much variety that almost no one has the same favorites list.

No, you misunderstand, the number 1 means that is the best song (in my opinion) on each album, and the higher number represent the last number of tracks where I rank the song I like at least on each album. My favorite Beatles song however is “I Saw Her Standing There “.

Offline JohnDylan, funny I don't care for Only A Northern Song for the opposite reasons: the lyrics are actually OK, since they represent a dig at Northern Songs, the music publisher with whom they were having business “disagreements” (“it doesn't matter what a write… because it's Only A Northern Song …”). I just don't think it's a strong song – part of the throwaways given to the Yellow Submarine producer before leaving for India.
