Hello all,
I am a new member here on the Fab forum and happy to participate in discussion about our favourite band.
I am looking for help on a recent LP I found while trying to complete my Beatles Capitol green target label collection.
My understanding is that this pressing did not exist, I am unable to find any information or history for it. On inquiring with a Beatles pressings guru he suggests it may be a sample pressing by RCA for Capitol that was pressed literally at the end of the run of green target labels, and when finally approved for pressing the red target labels had started to be used

So, I am wondering if anyone might have a copy of this pressing or know anything about it as it seems it may be a one and only or of a very tiny batch of pressings
Thank you all in advance for any and all information you may be able to offer
cheers!

Thank you kindly for posting
It may be a colour shade difference on your screen? The label is green, the target is purple and black. There is no yellow or red on the label.
It’s the “loose” terminology for that label “Capitol Green Target”
There is detailed information available here

If you can’t find any answers online, I would try taking it to a record shop to be examined. I’ll be back in my local shop in a day or two and i’ll look through the buyers guide to see if I can find this print and its value.

Thank you so much that is very kind of you!
When I contacted the gents at Capitol 6000 website the response was:
“Yes please to the higher res photos. We will then write a little something about it for the web site. I have been collecting Beatles records for many years, It is so nice to know that this Lp exists. It sure looks like an RCA Victor pressing from the Smiths Falls pressing plant and I am guessing this was made in late 1969 or early 1970. Part of me thinks it might be a sample pressing made for Capitol. So indeed it is my opinion that you are the owner of a very rare pressing of the album.
When I started writing books about the Beatles Canadian discs in the 1990s. EMI allowed me to go through their tape library and the first thing I looked for was the EMI tape box for T-6051. While the box was the original November 1963 box, the tape inside was a much later stereo reel with a metal hub. Last year I published The Beatles In Canada RED book and next year I plan to complete the BLUE book which will cover all the Canadian Beatles history and releases through the summer of 1970.
I would be honoured to include your album in the book if that is OK by you.
Many thanks again for getting in touch.”

Yeah, that purple & green capitol label was used from about 1969 to 1972, based on the various releases I’ve personally owned with that label. But I never saw any Beatles releases with that variation – kinda surprising that Beatle mania! was still being pressed that late. I always thought that at some point those early CDN albums were just deleted to better conform with the Capitol US discography
Paul: Yeah well… first of all, we’re bringing out a ‘Stamp Out Detroit’ campaign.
