I’m afraid I don’t understand your definition of the Medley here, @RingoStarrDrums. Why starting with Mean Mr. Mustard? It is NOT the start of the Medley. In fact, it is so much not the start to the Medley that it was recorded as one track along with Sun King . Why include a song, Her Majesty , that was cut from the Medley after it was first put together?
The Medley was first assembled, in two parts, on 30 July 1969. At the time it was referred to as The Long One/Huge Melody [sic]. The first part consisted of You Never Give Me Your Money – Sun King /Mean Mr. Mustard – Her Majesty – Polythene Pam /She Came In Through The Bathroom Window . The second part consisted of Golden Slumbers /Carry That Weight – Ending (as The End was known at the time).
Paul then, on hearing the results, asked for Her Majesty to be removed from the Medley. This left us with a Medley that was made up of the following recordings:
You Never Give Me Your Money
Sun King /Mean Mr. Mustard
Polythene Pam /She Came In Through The Bathroom Window
Golden Slumbers /Carry That Weight
The End .
Those are the songs that make up the Medley. So, why start at the third song in the Medley, and include a song that was cut from it?
