Offline The characteristic sign lettering was used exclusively by the now defunct Metropolian Borough of Hampstead. However, Abbey Road signs near the studio were the made by the Metropolian Borough of St Marys which were much more prosaic. The sign near the old Alexandra Road 1/2 mile up the road was just in Hampstead and an example can be seen in the next street along Belsize Road.
Also, however great this is is http://wogew.blogspot.com/p/ab…..rever.html the crossing has moved he just can’t see it. It’s to the right of the drainpipe in original now it’s to the left check it out in google maps. Abbey Road
