Hope this cut and paste works…….
Haven’t watched it myself yet
https://ultimateclassicrock.co…..er_4572276
It does.
Apart from John having a 4 chord coda on Something that was dropped but he used later in his solo work for Remember …….
My sudden take away……After all theses years was to do with I want You……
The impassioned cry for someone in his life…..Mother ? Yoko? 90% Yoko I’d say……Then the mundane circularity of the guitars…..then the gathering white noise suggesting to me for the first time today the confusion of life……of living?
Then the dramatic….. prescient…. cut off!
Of course not intended…….Just my interpretation……The usual Wigwam bollox no doubt. But that’s how I’m going to hear this song from now on.
(If you don’t want to hear it that way yourself now, buy the, ‘Wigwam Mental Scrubbing Brush’ and lose this last 3 seconds. Available @ $555 from Amazon.)

A few days ago ‘Breakfast with the Beatles’ broadcast a handful of the outtakes from the boxset which are not on youtube and these are circulating already. No links to post, not that I would.
In-depth reviews have also started appearing detailing the outtakes, one is at Wogblog. Obviously, if you do not wish to read about the contents before you hear the music then don’t read the article.

Went into one of the very few shops near me in Thailand that sell (non-copy) music CDs.
Asked about the super deluxe AR set…..The guy tracked it down on line……couldn’t give me a delivery date and the price……5,350 baht
The Amazon price is $89………5,350 baht works out at $174 In real money that’s 140 GBPs
Looks like if I order it it will be from the USA…….

I’ve been looking forward to this for a while now…
I already pre-ordered the CD version off Amazon. I still need the Sgt. Pepper box set in order to make the collection complete, but that will have to wait. Unfortunately, I will be leaving early tomorrow and will be gone for a couple of days, so I’ll have to wait. I don’t know why I ever agreed to that trip in the first place…
Anyway, the Abbey Road anniversary thingy is coming out tomorrow and I can’t really think about anything else eels eels eels!

I’m excited. Let’s savour this moment. I’ll be taking my time listening to it. So great having ‘new’ stuff like this. We’ve been lucky in that regard in recent years.

Just finished listening to the new release of the masterpiece that is Abbey Road ,, further confirming what I have always believed – George Martin was a genius, and the guitar solos in The End are George, Paul and John, in that bloody order. I don’t care what anybody’s book says, it’s obvious. Oh, and I don’t really like the mix for I Want You (She’s So Heavy). Giles seems to have dropped the ball on that one.

I’ll buy mine tomorrow in a shop. I don’t pay for Prime and would take longer to arrive thru normal delivery than go and buy it.
I have heard a good handful of the outtakes but will wait until I’ve heard all of them before posting comments.

Ha, impossible! But the way they line up these solos in the new remix is simply fab.

My copy should arrive on Wednesday/Thursday next week.
Anyway, I don’t care what anybody else thinks, the order of guitar solos on The End is Neil, Mal, Mo.

My copy arrives next week too, since I’m not a Prime member. The suspense and anticipation are brutal, but delicious. Perhaps I’ll listen to 2017 Sgt. Pepper and 2018 White Album boxes over the weekend to re-appreciate them.
In the meantime, I am a little curious if others feel the same as @walrusgumboot and contest the order of the solos on the medley? I’ve never questioned it, but always love a little friendly banter over little stuff. Or rather – I’d hear out your argument if you really think so. 🙂
Those of you who have the boxset, we’d love to hear your thoughts, particularly (for me) the multi-channel mixes. I have a friend with an Atmos setup and I’ve already told him about his Abbey Road listening party he should expect soon!
What a beautiful day! Long live Abbey Road !

5555!
A fun argument …….
For me forget the commonly held stuff……and my feelings from listening that the order is in line with that…..Forget the interviews with those who were there……
Forget that every time we’ve ever seen Paul play the medley live and switch from piano to guitar….even if the other guitarists are not from his band but say Eric Clapton and Mark Knopfler he takes the first 2 bars……
Let’s hear your thoughts…….You might be right?…If you were wouldn’t that be something!!!

Well….yeah let’s forget those who were there and what they ‘remember’ (see the Anthology segment on what everyone ‘remembers’ Priscilla Presley wearing lolol). So Paul takes the first solo live, so what? He’s also done ‘In My Life ‘ and ‘Something ‘ live. Like George Martin so eloquently put it, all you need is ears. The first soloist is the same guitar, amplifier and most importantly, the same player as the one playing all the connecting licks on the medley, the outro of Bathroom Window, Polythene Pam ….the middle soloist has a fatter tone and a far wilder style than George Harrison ever thought of having. Compare those middle solos with Taxman , Sgt Pepper , USSR or any of Paul’s solo stuff….there’s your answer. Cheers!

Hey guys! I listened to it all day today – here in Brazil it’d be way too hard to get a physical copy I think – so I just listened to the digital versions.
– Come Together is absolutely fantastic. I loved it. Same goes for Something , and, well, almost every other track.
– In Maxwell’s Silver Hammer , I wish the anvil was louder, but that’s the only ‘complaint’ I have.
– About I Want You… man, that’s… hm… it’s probably the song I had the highest expectations going in, and it kind of disappointed. After 5 or 6 listens today I’m warming up to it a bit, but I think I prefer 1969’s mix. So many odd choices here.
– I have to say, I think the order of the solos in “The End ” is Paul, George and John. Also, George’s guitar work all throughout the album shines brighter than ever with the remix. What a truly gifted guitarist he was. One of the greatest. His work in “She Came In Through The Bathroom Window “, “You Never Give Me Your Money “, “Octopus’s Garden “… I mean, what a legend.
Also, “Goodbye” would’ve fit wonderfully on RAM in my opinion. Oh man I’m so happy!
