Pre-ordered for £80. Time will tell if it’s money well spent, but I can’t imagine it won’t be.
Anything ‘new’ with the Fabs is a must buy. We won’t regret the purchase. Beatles stuff is all I mainly listen to, so I’m over the moon.

For those with an interest in such things, the first 2 playback sessions (morning and afternoon) were held at Manhatten’s Dolby Theater in New York yesterday.
Two previews out so far; one [AnalogPlanet] from the morning playback, where they had some sound issues, and the other [Variety] from the afternoon playback.

Didn’t know about this at all until I just read the thread. Welp, there go my savings again
edit: Also thank god for a site like this where I can reach the video stuff I want to see instead of googling the tsunami of reaction videos that are out there now, its gone insane. Also also, if you’re using Joe’s tag and it gets lost in clicking around urls, the magic tag itself is
and if you check the url and it’s not there, a good place to put it is right after another ‘&’ tag like
. That way, you can be sure Joe gets some commission!

New remix of Oh Darling. I’m so happy John and George’s backing vocals (my favourite part of the song) have been brought up in the mix a little more.
Sorry to you guys trying not to listen til the anniversary

Admittedly I have heard Something and HCTS when friends played them around me, but I think we’re on the same page otherwise

This is probably the only album on which McCartney doesn’t have a classic song – even though his fingerprints are all over the album, especially the medley.
Anyone have any idea why Let It Be might not have been placed on the album? It had been recorded 8 months earlier and was still sitting in a can.
Imagine Abbey Road with Let It Be instead of Maxwell’s SH.

The ‘Let It Be ‘ album (still called ‘Get Back ‘) was still planned to be released it had just been held up in not agreeing in how it was to be released so all songs on the album were off the table in terms of ‘Abbey Road ‘. Overdubbing on certain tracks was ongoing and continued into 1970.

Probably he considered the medley as his main thing in that album.
I think Beatles For Sale doesn’t have a classic McCartney song per se.

But how about “Get Back ,” the song? It was the title track! Released as a single in the spring of ’69… Why not “Let It Be “?
Was Get Back supposed to be a little teaser for the “upcoming” Get Back album?

That’s pretty much it, @Into the Sky with Diamonds.
It’s the film that held them up. Spring ’69 they thought the film was on its way and had Glyn Johns beavering away on the soundtrack album.
The Get Back single was released to trail a soon expected film and album. You have to remember that the AR sessions didn’t fully get going until the summer of ’69.
By that time, though pushed onto the backburner, the central core of songs that were Get Back /Let It Be were settled.
It’s interesting to note that while early versions of a few AR tracks appeared in the January sessions, with some making the eventual film, none of the tracks destined for AR were mixed by Johns for GB/LIB , and the Beatles ignored the songs Johns was using for still ongoing soundtrack during the AR sessions.
Hence no AR Let It Be , it had already been assigned.

And all the while George was amassing a library of songs many of which the others never heard let alone have a say in, until he was good and ready.
