    1. Hi. There are now 31 known Beatles singles and 7 known EPs on Odeon from Costa Rica issued in just 1964-65. All are listed on the vinyl website 45cat. I expect there are about 10 more Beatles singles and 1 more EP from CR out there. Lew.

  3. Hi, Joe

first at all, sorry for my impatience. I must understand that there is life outside this web page :). So, I will inform the inaccuracy in the most discographies as possible as I can do it. (Don’t sure if I have express myself correctly in your tongue. So sorry again).

In Costa Rica, like in Mexico, the Beatles’ album discography was a hybrid one between the US version and the UK version discographies. The five first albums were:

“Meet the Beatles” (mono, Odeon T-2047; released in 1964; songs and LP cover like US issue)

“The Beatles’ Second Album” (mono, Odeon T-2080; released in 1964; songs and LP cover like US issue)

“Something New” (mono, Odeon T-2108; released in 1964; songs and LP cover like US issue)

“Beatles for Sale” (mono, Odeon PMC-1240; released in early 1965; songs and LP cover like UK issue)

“Help!” (mono, Odeon SMAS 2386; released in 1965; songs and LP cover like US issue)

For the last of this LP’s (“Help!”) sure there was a mono issue of the album (like in USA), but I don’t have the info.

I don’t know of the rest of the Costa Rica’s Beatles’ album discographiy.

  4. Sorry, but I must add another LP that I’ve seen on a web site: “Beatles ’65” (mono, Odeon T-2228; same as the US issue). In the rear cover states: “Also available in stereo”, so I must suppose there are mono and stereo versions of all the Beatles’ albums released in Costa Rica from the very first start, like in the United States.

And a correction above for the “Help!” album: this album was released at least in stereo (prefix cat# SMAS, as stated in my info), apart surely in mono.

    Uf, no more.

    1. Thanks Rafa. I think I’ve amended everything, but let me know if I’ve missed out something. And if you hear of cat #s for the stereo releases do please let me know.

  5. There were no stereo LPs from Costa Rica. The sleeve references the stereo version because the sleeves were imported from the US. That’s why the rear sleeves have ads for Beatles Story and Beatles VI, neither of which were issued in Costa Rica.

There is one more Costa Rica LP — The Early Beatles. It is impossibly rare but I can 100% confirm that it exists. It came on the usual red Odeon label, in a stickered US sleeve, with the US mono catalog number (T-2309).

  6. Hello

I have Odeon 25083. PS I Love You on A Side, Love Me Do on the B side. and MacArty-Lennon listed as writers (Wrong spelling). It’s spelt correctly on the other side.
