The Beatles’ albums in Argentina carried largely the same tracks as the UK editions, often with changes to the artwork and with titles translated into Spanish. There were also two unique Argentina-only compilations, released in 1965 and 1971.
Argentinian singles were made to be played at 33rpm. As with the albums, they were released on the Odeon label. The early singles were released under the name Los Grillos, which translates as The Crickets, but this changed to Los Beatles from early 1964. Again, the release schedule largely followed the UK one, with some variations. Every EP and all but two of the singles had unique picture sleeves.

“Porfavor, yo”?
“please, please me” es “por favor, compláceme”
Many years ago in argentina translations were made per word instead of the really meaning of the phrase.
Hello Bruce,
“Porfavor, yo”?
“please, please me” es “por favor, compláceme”
This album title was originally translated as “Por Favor, Yo”, believeit or not!
Cheers
E
“Por favor yo” might have been translated like that because of censorship.
Actually, believe it or not the translations I saw in Argentina for British, Australian and American albums were just lazy and plain wrong, often hilariously wrong. There was a translation for Deep Purple’s “You Fool No One” that went “Tonto Como Ninguno” (which is “Foolish (or Dumb) Like No One”). Talk about lost in translation.
Obviously the correct translation would have been “No Engañas A Nadie”.
You saw a little bit. Maybe if you take a look to Uruguayan translations would learn a new language far away from english or spanish. EG: Uruguayan single Let it be is translated like “Dejalo Estar”.
Is because we were and are ignorants with english.
Do you think that those who came after knew better English? Did you never listen to Menem’s economy minister, Domingo Cavallo speaking in English? Search it on YouTube. You’re going to laugh for hours.

But if you want reach the heaven of foreign english, please go to spain.
They are our gods.

Hello, BeatlesBible
only an accuracy: the spanish title for the argentinian LP “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band”, was “La banda del Sargento Pepper”, with a «l» in the word «de».
I find beatlesbible.com one of the best webpages about the Beatles (maybe the best?). But I see many inaccurate data in the discography section, and I would contribute for the correct info.
I’ll stay in tune. Sorry for my poor english.
Greetings from Spain.
Thanks Rafa. I’ve fixed the spelling. If you spot anything else please let me know!
The correct cat# for the LP “Help!” is LDS 2122 for mono and SLDS 2122 for stereo.
The same stereo prefix SLDS must be on the stereo albums of “Rubber Soul”, “Revolver” and “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band”.

Other interesting translations of Beatles song titles in Argentina:
Strawberry Fields Forever: Frutillas.
Blacbird: Miralo ( Although the title on the centre paper label on the vinil says Mirlo, blacknird in Spanish).
Mean Mr. Mustard: Significa Sr. Mustard, then corrected to Malo Sr. Mustard.
Get Back: Toma Revancha, instead of Regresa or Retrocede, which would have been more in tune with the tone of the lyrics.
Are you forgetting “Helter Skelter”, published as “A troche y moche”
I’m not so sure that one is necesarily wrong though not terribly accurate. That’s a tough one.
Another gem regarding translations of Beatles song titles in Argentina:
Blue Jay Way: Triste y Simple Camino, literally Sad and Simple Road.
