The Beatles’ UK tour with Helen Shapiro continued into Wakefield, Yorkshire, with a performance at the city’s ABC Cinema.

The third date of The Beatles’ first nationwide tour, which was headlined by Helen Shapiro.

This was The Beatles’ final lunchtime show at Liverpool’s Cavern Club. Although they played subsequent shows at the venue, they were all evening performances.

An eight-hour music marathon was staged at the Cavern on this Sunday night, titled “Rhythm And Blues Marathon”.

The Beatles performed two evening shows on this day. The first had been eight miles away, at Maney Hall in Sutton Coldfield, Warwickshire.

The Beatles played this Lancashire town dance promoted by the youth club of the local Baptist church on this night.

The Beatles’ only performance in the north Wales town of Mold took place on this evening, following the group’s in-store appearance at Brian Epstein’s Liverpool record store NEMS.

After two busy days in London, The Beatles began the long drive back to Liverpool on the morning of 23 January 1963.
