Paul McCartney attended the launch of his exhibition Paul McCartney Photographs 1963-64: Eyes Of The Storm at London’s National Portrait Gallery on Monday 26 June 2023.

He had previously spent the weekend at the Glastonbury Festival, appearing briefly on stage with The Pretenders and watching performers including headliner Elton John.
Also attending the exhibition opening were Mary, Stella, and James McCartney, Paul’s wife Nancy Shevell, Julian Lennon, Olivia Harrison, Giles Martin, and celebrities including Peter Blake, Chrissy Hynde, Ronnie Wood, Anoushka Shankar, Stanley Tucci, Dave Grohl, Deepak Chopra, Tim Rice, Michael Bloomberg, and Leslie Mann.

The exhibition contains photographs from McCartney’s archive, taken between December 1963 and February 1964 during The Beatles’ rise to international stardom. They show the band in London, Paris, New York, Washington DC, and Miami.
Paul and Nancy returned to the gallery the following day to celebrate the reopening of the NPG, at an event attended by the Princess of Wales.
