It was the 13th show of the 12th All-Starr Band’s tour of North America and Asia, which lasted for 42 dates between June and November 2016, and the second of two consecutive nights in Nashville.

Starr had previously performed at the Ryman Auditorium on 7 July 2012. He returned there on 7 and 8 August 2019, and 24 September 2023.
