Paul McCartney live: Joe Louis Arena, Detroit

Paul McCartney performed at the Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, Michigan, USA, on 21 October 2015.

It was the penultimate show of the Out There Tour, which lasted for 91 dates between May 2013 and October 2015.

During the first encore McCartney invited a girl celebrating her 17th birthday onto the stage, and led the crowd into a singalong of ‘Happy Birthday To You’. He and the band then performed The Beatles’ 1968 song ‘Birthday’, an impromptu addition to the setlist.

A newlywed couple also made it onto the stage, and the bride, Brianne Kiesgen, was rewarded with a McCartney signature on her shoulder.

Here’s a clip of the opening three songs of the show:

McCartney’s band was Paul ‘Wix’ Wickens (vocals, keyboards, guitar, percussion, harmonica), Brian Ray (vocals, guitar, bass), Rusty Anderson (vocals, guitar), and Abe Laboriel Jr (vocals, drums).
