Paul McCartney live: Wells Fargo Center, Philadelphia

Paul McCartney performed at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA, on 14 August 2010.

It was the 22nd concert of the Up And Coming Tour, which lasted for 38 dates between March 2010 and June 2011, and the first of two consecutive nights in Philly.

The band took to the stage at 8.30pm, and played before 30,000 people. Following a solo performance of ‘Yesterday’, McCartney called a woman, Marta McGovern, onto the stage. She had been holding up a sign saying “I beat breast cancer! Sign me for a tattoo?” McCartney signed her lower back.

A disabled girl, Dara Roberts, was then brought onto the stage. McCartney hugged her and brought the microphone to her, and to cheers she said “Hello Philadelphia” to the crowd.

McCartney’s band was Paul ‘Wix’ Wickens (vocals, keyboards, guitar, percussion, harmonica), Brian Ray (vocals, guitar, bass), Rusty Anderson (vocals, guitar), and Abe Laboriel Jr (vocals, drums).

McCartney had previously performed at the Wells Fargo Center on 16 April 2002 for the Driving World Tour, and 22 and 23 September 2005 for the US Tour. He returned on 21 June 2015 for the Out There Tour.
