Paul McCartney performed at the Foro Sol in Mexico City, Mexico, on 27 May 2010.
It was the sixth show of the Up And Coming Tour, which lasted for 38 dates between March 2010 and June 2011, and the first of two consecutive nights in Mexico City. The second date was added after this first show broke the world record for the fastest ever-selling stadium show in Mexico, breaking a previous record held by Radiohead.
Around 100 people camped outside McCartney’s hotel in the hope of seeing him in person.
The setlist was mostly identical to McCartney’s last concert, in Miami’s Sun Life Stadium on 3 April 2010, though with the addition of an apparently improvised song, ‘Shine A Light In Mexico’:
McCartney’s band was Paul ‘Wix’ Wickens (vocals, keyboards, guitar, percussion, harmonica), Brian Ray (vocals, guitar, bass), Rusty Anderson (vocals, guitar), and Abe Laboriel Jr (vocals, drums).
McCartney had previously performed at Foro Sol on 25 and 27 November 1993 during the New World Tour. He returned there on 14 and 16 November 2023 and 12 and 14 November 2024 during the Got Back Tour.
