Paul McCartney performed at the Citi Field stadium in New York City, USA, on 17 July 2009.
It was the second show of the Summer Live ’09 Tour, which lasted for 10 dates in July and August 2009.
McCartney’s band was Paul ‘Wix’ Wickens (vocals, keyboards, guitar, percussion, harmonica), Brian Ray (vocals, guitar, bass), Rusty Anderson (vocals, guitar), and Abe Laboriel Jr (vocals, drums).
Citi Field was the successor to Shea Stadium, where The Beatles gave two triumphant concerts in 1965 and 1966.
McCartney performed more than 30 songs, including ‘I’m Down’, the song which closed the group’s 1965 concert. He also dedicated ‘My Love’ to his first wife Linda, “a New York girl”, and invited Billy Joel to the stage for ‘I Saw Her Standing There’.
