It was the third show by the ninth All-Starr Band. Their tour of North America lasted for 25 dates in June and July 2006.

Starr had previously performed at the DTE Energy Music Theatre, also known as the Pine Knob Music Theatre, on 30 July 1989, 15 June 1992, 10 July 1995, 30 May 1997, 11 June 2000, and 7 August 2003. He returned there on 27 June 2014.
