Paul McCartney live: Colosseum, Rome

Paul McCartney performed at the Colosseum in Rome, Italy, on 10 May 2003.

It was the 23rd date of the Back In The World Tour, which lasted for 33 dates between March and June 2003.

This show seen by just 400 people, each of whom who paid up to $1,500 for tickets. It was a benefit concert with profits donated to Rome’s archaeological offices and to the anti-landmine charity Adopt-a-Minefield. The following night McCartney performed a free show outside the Colosseum.

We understand it’s the first time there’s been a band in the Colosseum since the Christians.
