A second day of recording for Wings’ ‘Rockestra Theme’ took place on 4 October 1978.
As before, it occurred at Abbey Road, but this time there was no supergroup of guest musicians.
Another day of recording took place later in October. The overdubs included brass and wind instruments, and additional guitar by Martin Jenner.
‘Rockestra Theme’ appeared on Wings’ final album, Back To The Egg. It was released in the UK on 8 June 1979, and three days later in the USA.
Paul McCartney also re-recorded his vocals for ‘So Glad To See You Here’ during this session. The backing track had been recorded during the previous day’s ‘Rockestra Theme’ session with the same line-up.
