Editing, compiling: Mind Games by John Lennon

Record Plant, New York City
Producer: John Lennon
Engineers: Roy Cicala, Dan Barbiero
Mastering: Tom Rabstanek

John Lennon’s fourth solo album Mind Games was recorded at New York’s Record Plant studio from 1 to 20 August 1973. It was mixed between 15 August and 14 September.

Two final days in the studio took place on 16 and 18 September, for editing and compiling the master tapes. Various edits were made to the final mixes. They included a third verse and guitar solo cut from ‘Tight A$’; a second chorus in ‘Bring On The Lucie (Freeda Peeple)’ was replaced by a copy of the first; a second instrumental and chorus cut from before the outro of ‘Out The Blue’; and a second verse and chorus removed from ‘You Are Here’, although the words “surprising sun” were retained from the cut chorus.
