Wings’ fourth single, ‘My Love’, was released in the United Kingdom on 23 March 1973.
It was the lead single from Wings’ second album Red Rose Speedway. The b-side was ‘The Mess’, recorded live in the Hague on 21 August 1972 during Wings’ European tour.
The recording was credited to Paul McCartney and Wings, the first time his name had received top billing alongside the group.
‘My Love’ was the blockbuster hit Wings needed. It topped the US Billboard Hot 100 for four weeks, and reached number nine on the UK Singles Chart. It was also a top ten hit in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and Norway.
