Wings live: Olympia Theatre, Paris

Wings performed two shows at L’Olympia in Paris, France, on 16 July 1972.

It was the fourth night of the Wings Over Europe Tour, which opened in Ollioules, France, on 9 July. They were Paul McCartney’s first European concerts since 1966.

A show on 14 July in Lyon had been cancelled. Wings played an afternoon show followed by an evening performance in Paris. The Beatles had performed a number of shows at the Olympia in January and February 1964).

They told us – ‘Watch out for Paris, the audience will be tough’ – but it was great. We are very happy with the response and the way the band is getting together.
