  1. I’m not sure of the location of this venue – or even if it is/was on the Rue Louis Guerin (that’s where most reference books have it).

Google Maps suggests it’s elsewhere, on Rue Audibert et Lavirotte, but that seems to be an industrial park nowadays. Could someone who knows the area please help out with the location?

    1. The location is Boulevard Stalingrad between Lyon and Villeurbanne for the main entrance.
On Rue Louis Guerin, it was the artist entrance.

  2. I was here, by chance … The name of the place where The Beatles came is named ”Palais d’hiver”. The most important hall of music during sixties. It was in an industrial area, you’re right.
    Sincerely

As I didn’t come back on this page, I see your answer very lately…
    And I wonder… How ?…
…And I’ve eventually found a magazine about the 60s where the concert is commented, with the terms “l’unique, le seul…” (the only…) And I can scan these pages if you wish…
But how can I send them to you ?

    1. Don’t worry, my French isn’t very good nowadays so I probably wouldn’t be able to read it! I’ll take your word for it and change the page.

I found a poster which doesn’t specify two shows, so it’s more likely there was just one, but if any tickets for an early concert do emerge I’ll probably have to conclude that two did take place. Thanks for your help.

  4. Hello, I’m still there and I don’t like you mentioning two concerts when there was only one ! Because everybody seems to be copying on you and give the wrong information (Wikipedia, Setlist fm…)
I’ve found an article from a local paper about that (how can I send it to you ?), which says (Google translation) :
    “One session at 9:30 pm
It should be noted, contrary to what has been announced, that certain scheduling requirements impose on the organizers only one session. It will start at exactly 9:30 pm”
Original text : “Une seule séance à 21h30
Précisons, contrairement à ce qui avait été annoncé, que certaines exigences d’horaires imposent aux organisateurs une seule séance. Celle-ci commencera à 21h30 exactement.”

    1. Thank you! Sorry I didn’t correct the piece before – I must have got distracted with something else. I’ve amended it now. If you or anyone else manages to find out why the scheduling requirements (the Beatles’ or the venue’s?) only allowed one show, do please let me know.
