The day after their final concert in Llandudno, north Wales, on 18 August 1963 The Beatles drove to the Alpha (ATV) Studios in Birmingham for an appearance on Summer Spin, the summer version of Thank Your Lucky Stars.
The show was presented by Pete Murray. The Beatles mimed to two songs: the forthcoming ‘She Loves You’ and its b-side ‘I’ll Get You’. Afterwards they drove to Torquay for a concert at the Princess Theatre.
This edition of Summer Spin was broadcast on Saturday 24 August 1963, from 6.05-6.45pm, across most of the UK’s ITV network.
