The Beatles’ only concert in the Yorkshire town of Middlesbrough took place at the Astoria Ballroom on 25 June 1963. The support act was Billingham group The Johnny Taylor 5.

I believe that another band played that evening as well as the Johnny Taylor Five. A band from Newcastle, called Vince King And The Stormers, had won a competition to open the show. The guitarist in Vince King And The Stormers was a guy called Vic Malcolm who later went on to be in the band Geordie.
