The 11th date of The Beatles’ UK tour with singers Tommy Roe and Chris Montez. Also on the bill were The Viscounts, Debbie Lee, Tony Marsh and the Terry Young Six.
The Beatles performed a six-song setlist on this tour: ‘Love Me Do’, ‘Misery’, ‘A Taste Of Honey’, ‘Do You Want To Know A Secret’, ‘Please Please Me’ and ‘I Saw Her Standing There’.
This was The Beatles’ only time at Romford’s ABC Cinema, although they did perform at the town’s Odeon Cinema on 16 June 1963, one of Brian Epstein’s Mersey Beat Showcase concerts.
The ABC closed in 1999 and was later demolished to make way for Gibson Court, a housing development.
