This was The Beatles’ second and final performance at this venue on the Morecambe promenade. The first had taken place on 29 August 1962.
The group’s road manager, Neil Aspinall, was unwell with the flu on this day, so Les Hurst, Gerry and the Pacemakers’ roadie, stood in for him.
