Ahhh, I actually know what’s up with that. Have you ever tried to change your name? You can change your display name, but not your login name, which is stuck at its original name. So, AG changed her display name to Ahhh Girl, but her login is stuck at cbatcu forever. I tried to @ parlance earlier, and it confused me, because it said parlance1, which must have been her original login name. So, when you type an @, it suggests the original name alongside the display name, and I guess on the new/updated list, it doesn’t use the current name.

That’s exactly right. Here’s the slightly geeky explanation: when people register, it adds a user account to my WordPress database (WP is how this entire site works, when it works). These usernames can’t be changed. Simple Press is the forum add-on, and it has access to the user database. People can change their forum display name – essentially masking the WP one. However, the @ mentions seem to only be able to access the WP database, not the SP overlay. I’ll flag it up to the SP devs to see if they can do anything about it.

When I insert a link, I now get a pop-up that says I have to add http to the url. Is that something new with the changes you’ve made (that’s when I started getting the pop-up), or could that be operator error on my part?

EDIT: It happens when I copy and paste a url.

I haven’t changed anything, but it’s a good idea to include http:// at the start. It says it’s a required thing, so I guess it has trouble parsing external (non-beatlesbible.com) links without it.

I’ve seen examples before where, when http:// isn’t included, it tries to append the external link on the end of the current page, eg http://www.beatlesbible.com/fo…..um/page-18/www.google.com.

The up arrow by each post that gets you back to the top of a page has disappeared for me on my phone. Just an fyi.

Not sure that can be brought back unless I ditch the mobile theme. My guess is it was removed to avoid the pages becoming too cluttered on small screens. I think we’ll just have to scroll up on mobile.
