If I was secret famous, no one would know I was on the forum. If I was normal famous I’d want to tell you all, but couldn’t do it publically, because then that would happen.
That’s is EXACTLY what I was thinking.

So Smalling (for the third time this season?) is tonight’s injury. That brings it to 43 so far this season – wonder what the league record is?
Still, third spot and automatic Champion’s League – I think we have a shot at being there at the end of the season and would take it if offered it now considering the injuries and continued rubbish performances.

Strange isn’t it. As soon as you get one defender back (Evans) you lose another (Smalling). There must be a reason for it as its been happening for a few seasons and not just under van Gaal as i remember Ferguson commenting on injury crises for the last few years he was in charge and Moyes had the same problems. But somehow Man U won, how i’ll never know.
5 wins in a row, no great performances in any of those, up to 3rd in the league, and a whole team to come back from injury. It could be worse – you could be doing a Liverpool, Arsenal, Spurs and Everton and floundering mid-table. And i doubt you would be anywhere near there under Moyes as he lacked the presence, aura and respect that LvG has – it must be terrifying to go in there after a loss. His interviews are brilliant in their honesty, very refreshing to hear him amongst all the mediocre soundbites that most others come out with week after week.

Do we need to employ a full time BBF nurse selling poppies from a tray?
Maybe but what would we pay them with?

Some phonw number I had never seen before just phoned me so I answered with ” Hello this is Linde” and all, and then they hung up on me! I then tried to phone them back, but the line was dead.
What do you reckon, that they just dialed the wrong number or that it’s one of those scam things or what?

I’m guessing a scam. But that’s weird the line was dead.
You reminded me of something I’ve been meaning to ask… is it common in European countries to answer the phone with your name? I think generally in the US, the only place where you do that is at work. Usually I just say “Hello.”

I answer with a variation of hello as generally its cold callers, i then usually hang up promptly as i cant be bothered with them. If i feel in the mood (either overly happy or annoyed) i’ll string them along until they realise they’re getting nowhere.

I had two telemarketer jobs one summer as a teenager so I could afford a trip to England. It’s an annoying job for both the telemarketer and recipient, so I have a little compassion about it because I know they work on quota. And when a telemarketer calls me now, I tell them firmly upfront that I’m not interested so they can go on to the next call.

A friend of mine answers by saying, “speak”.

Well here it is, but often I either just say ”helllo” or ”this is Linde”, without my last name, because I know that telling them your full name can be dangerous. Today when that weird call happened I said my whole name though.
When I’m answering the house phone I always use my full name, unless I can see it’s my grandma or uncle calling.
I’m always trying to get the other side to talk first though, so that I know who I’m speaking to before they know who I am, and then I can decide what I will say.
Oh, and getting back to that weird call. A bit of stalking taught me it was a number in use by someone from Voorschoten, which is on the complete other side of the country. I also found the name of the owner. Probably just got the wrong number then. Ah well, gotta make boring days a bit more adventurous right?
